IAA SPOTLIGHT: GET TO KNOW ? LAWW ... - Industry All Access

In the February of 1984 a star was born. As an adolescent he quickly became accustomed to what it meant to struggle and how imperative it was to grind. The streets of 7 mile Detroit would forever leave an imprinted reminder of the perils possible without determination. At a young age his aspirations were forming, his mission, to surpass the great performers he was inspired by. Artists such as, the late and great Tupac and Biggie Smalls, and the lyrical assassins Jay Z and Common. At 13, due to domestic complications, his parents divorced and Laww and his mother relocated to Huntsville, AL. This drastic change put him in shock that soon translated into legal trouble. With no outlet to display his anger, Laww?s only older brother took responsibility and introduced Laww to his passion, making music. ?To escape the reality of what was going on at home I stayed up under my big brother, and he stayed in the studio.? Intrigued by the music making process, his passion had been lit. At 19, Laww had recorded his first demo. By this time he had made a name for himself by winning many car show titles, mainly for his ability to outshine those who?s job it was to create custom automobile designs. From these events he networked with local artists and was featured on countless mixtapes throughout the south. At 24, Laww debuted his first mixtape titled Street Lawwz. Within its first few months he had accumulated tens of thousands of fans and views per internet platforms. From the compilation?s release he immediately received major recognition, radio play and has opened up for music powerhouses. Two years in, Laww is ASCAP certified, has one album released independently and has music that can be purchased on Itunes and other major online distributors. Still determined to acquire a title of stature, Laww is in negotiation with a few label situations yet remains unsigned. He resides in Madison, Al.

IAA:? What is your music background?

LAWW:?? I started singing in church. My brother was an artist his self. Music has always been a part of my life. As I grew older, I learned music as a whole, started engineering and producing music. I?ve put out 3 mix-tapes in this process.

IAA:? Why do you want to record and release your own music?

LAWW:?? At the current time I don?t have the funds to pay someone to record and I don?t have distribution available to me.

IAA:? What are your songs about?

LAWW:?? Money, hard times, loving, basketball, sadness, and uplifting.

IAA:? Who is your fan base directed towards?

LAWW:?? My fan base is directed toward ages from 13-45.

IAA:? Who are your musical influences?

LAWW:?? 2pac, Jay-Z, Biggie, Young Jeezy, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, and family members.

IAA:? How would you describe your music to people?

LAWW:?? Music that contains good feeling. Makes you cry, makes your flesh crawl. Very good music. It?s on an industry level.

IAA:? What makes you stand out from other artists?

LAWW:?? Everything I do is original. My sound is like no other, it?s my sound.

IAA:? What are some upcoming projects you are currently working on?

LAWW:?? Album coming soon, dropping near the end of summer. The name of the CD is ?Alawwbama.? Videos are coming soon.

IAA:? What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

LAWW:?? To be an all around entertainer. I?m looking forward to having my own Record label, working on filming and movies.
